Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

We stayed at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort for five nights from 19th July. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained, and our room was spacious. However, overall I felt the hotel was looking quite dated and in need of refurbishment, particularly in the bathroom where certain areas were showing their age. As we were only using the hotel as a base while visiting the parks, this didn’t impact our holiday too much. That said, considering how the resort is marketed and the price we paid, I do feel we could have found better value elsewhere. The pool area was nice and kept clean, with plenty of towels always available. However, the sun loungers were extremely uncomfortable and, depending on the time of day, could be difficult to find. I can’t really comment on the food court as we only purchased a refillable mug for drinks and didn’t eat there. Whenever we passed through, though, it always seemed incredibly busy. From what we saw, it offered the usual fast-food options. We did visit the ice cream parlour, which was lovely. We stayed in an interior family suite for 6 nights. For a family of four with two kids, there’s plenty of room. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Our youngest slept on the pull out sofa which he could handle, but I thought it was a little too firm for my liking. The room was very clean as was the property. It could use some touching up and the hallway walls are pretty banged up from the luggage carts. Every staff member we encountered was very nice and helpful. You can text them at anytime for anything including needing extra pillows, request housekeeping, and really any questions you have. The food at the Bayliner Diner and Galaxy Bowl restaurant were good. The milkshakes from the Shake Shop were also good. The convenience of having Volcano Bay next door was nice. Honestly, there’s really nothing bad I have to say about our stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Simply the best!!! My family and I stay here every year for our summer vacation and it never gets old. Bayliner Diner has so many food options, pool areas are clean and spacious, Starbucks and Swizzle Lounge are great, gym looks nice though I have never used it... and you just can't beat the retro vibes. Quick access to the theme parks, we always get right on the bus to CityWalk. I could go on and on and have no complaints about this resort. It has everything you need and more.

We had a wonderful family vacation overall and appreciated the hard work of the Cabana Bay team. There were many things that made our stay enjoyable. What went well: * The Bayliner Diner had a nice variety of food options, and it was consistently clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. * We were especially grateful for the gluten-free options. Having a family member with gluten intolerance can make traveling stressful, and your team made it much easier. * The shuttle buses to the parks were extremely convenient and well organized. * Housekeeping was excellent. Whenever we needed something, the staff responded quickly, were friendly, and kept our room very clean. * We loved the retro theme of the resort and appreciated how clean the public areas were throughout our stay. * The guest laundry facilities were clean, convenient, and very nice. Opportunities for improvement: * Our two-bedroom suite was spacious, but the furniture in the family room looked quite worn and the couch was uncomfortable. It detracted from what was otherwise a nice room. * Check-in on Sunday was extremely crowded. Even with Mobile Check-In, we experienced a very long wait. There is an opportunity to im
